When I look at these images, the song “Pennies from Heaven” immediately pops into my head!!!  I’m not quite sure why, maybe it’s because that song always brings a smile to my face and so does this sweetheart right here!

This session was a completely impromptu session and for me those are always the absolute best!  We headed out downtown in the heat of the day and it was this amazing girls idea to hop in this fountain!  She’s brilliant, right?!!!  I truly believe that every event should be documented and celebrated!  It doesn’t have to be a big huge fanfare, but some small kind of tribute to mark the transition and I was so touched that Angie asked me to photograph this moment for her!  I made Angie promise me though that we could re-create this exact scene for her high school graduation and her college graduation!  These were just too epic and perfect!

I love these moments above!  They are so tender and so sweet!  There is something that really pulls at my heart when I think about C graduating from pre-school!  To some it might seem really silly; but honestly I feel like this is a very big deal… huge even!  C is gearing up for elementary school next year where it’s full day and our school here is K-8, Full day!  That’s a big leap and it starts a milestone and a new beginning in her life that she will embark on for potentially a very long time!  It’s overwhelming for any parent!  It’s exciting and scary and wonderful and all the feels!  These moments here… where Angie is simply adjusting C’s cap… I feel like it sums up all those feels in one image:  she’s still so little, yet she’s a big girl too!!

After our fountain splashing, we decided to head to Uppercrust for some Pizza!  If you are ever in our little town of Celebration here in Florida and you are dying for some good pizza, you need to head over and see these guys!  They have amazing pizza (and they deliver too!)  C is a girl after my own heart, she loves and savors her pizza!  I had to capture some images of her expression as she was loving on her cheese slice!  I imagine this is what I look like when I eat a pizza as well!

This evening was a wonderful evening, and it was only about 30-40 minutes total (and that includes pizza eating)!  These small mini sessions are some of my most favorites!  They allow just enough time for us to play and really have fun!  It also helps my little ones feel like I just came over for a play date with my camera and for those that are a little bit shy or reserved (or not a fan of the camera); it helps them to see that the camera is really just an extension of me!

Family photography and Children’s portrait sessions should always be fun… just like this!  They should always have elements of play and laughter and magic… just like this one!
