Can we all just take a moment to appreciate little man’s gorgeous eyes and total GQ look right now in that image above!!!! I mean homeboy totally has this whole look at the camera with some finesse on LOCK DOWN!!!
Meet the S family and let me tell you friends, this family is SO MUCH FUN! We had a blast during their session and I think what touched my heart the most was that Clair and I connected on such an amazing momma and “hey, I totally have the same heart strings and all the feels that you have” kind of way!
Little Mr. B. over there, he is too adorable for words and he completely stole my heart! He is FULL of personality and he is the absolute sweetest boy in this whole world! Clair is doing everything right as a mama because little B was just perfection in every way!
These guys here are expecting a little girl very soon and they couldn’t all be more excited! B is going to be the BEST big brother because he is so kind and attentive. He doesn’t miss a thing and he is very perceptive… even at his wise old age of 2~! What’s most important though is that this session wasn’t all about their growing family; it was more about appreciating every second they have as a family of 3 while they have these moments!
Clair is a nurse at CHKD and no one understands being in the moment and appreciating it more than she does! We spent our long walks during our session talking about how fun B is right now and the joys this stage brings as well as the adventures! We laughed a lot because our sons are a lot alike and B had us all rolling when he decided to spin around and around and around after a pretty challenging game of peek a boo with me!
We brought out some books and they were able to just sit together and capture all the love they have and all the joy they share on a daily basis! They were able to just sit and be: as they are and as they will be soon when they add one more to their team!
B ran with his amazing run which has a little flare all of it’s own and I was dying over! He snuggled with his parents and talked to the baby a little! He picked his mom a beautiful flower and then came back for more kisses!
This is what our lives are truly about… capturing these small moments of love and kindness that we have for one another!
Just as our sun began to set, Clair and I were chatting about extending our time just a little longer. B adores the beach and truly feels wild and free there! It was only fitting to end our evening of play right across the street at the bay!
We happened to catch the most incredible sunset I have ever seen! I couldn’t imagine spending this evening any other way! As the sun went down and all the colors melted into the water, Clair and I continued our conversation! A conversation that was just perfect for two mommas with little boys! We connected in a way that is so necessary these days: a way that goes far beyond the connections you can make with social media or brief interactions. The kind you get when you drop all masks of perfection and just talk one on one from your heart! The kind of connection that comes from truly listening to another person’s story and allowing that story to change your heart!
We talked about how these are moments that as mom’s we will never forget! That, although B may never remember being an only child (though he was for 2 years) she will always remember the days when it was just the three of them! He might not remember these moments of sandy baby toes and hands held tightly over tiny fingers as the waves splash against wobbly legs… but she will! She will have these images and the imprints of memories left on her heart to tell him. He will have these photographs of way back when so that combined with his mother’s stories and her voice, he might “remember” in a different kind of way!
It’s so often the little moments: those nights when we spontaneously run them down to the ocean past their bedtime, or wake them up a bit early to enjoy a sunrise that often mean the world years from now! Those moments when we begin to take extra time and stop and pause to look more closely and marvel at a bug or point out a spiderweb: these are the moments that sometimes we take for granted but often when we look back we realize they are truly the most cherished!
