On Tuesday of this week, I shared with you Niko’s incredible birth story!
A few weeks later, I was able to visit with him and his family in the comfort of his own home and capture their real lives as they have settled in to a family of four! I think that is why I love newborn lifestyle sessions the very best: it captures real life as it is now for the family, in their own home where they are most comfortable and relaxed! There’s no pressure! It’s just a lot of laughter and realizing that wow, this is us and it’s a miracle!
And yes… I usually cry! Sometimes I wait until I leave but most often not! That’s just how I am and I can’t help it. These sessions are magical because for me, it completes that circle! We met when this amazing family is waiting so patiently to meet a new person and then during labor there is so much unconditional love and strength and surrender in the room that those feelings are tangible and overwhelming! And then, you bring this miracle home.. whether it’s your first or your introducing this new miracle to their brothers and sisters and your circle is complete: your home and it’s truly real! It’s like you’ve been holding your breath this whole time and you can finally exhale and when you do… it’s like it’s your very first breath of new life as family!
I can’t describe it… and so I just cry! I cry because on the other side of the camera I just feel all these emotions and I love it so very much! I feel so very blessed to be able to capture these moments!
This family… I have no other words! They are just something incredibly special to me!
Brooke – your pictures are absolutely gorgeous! You somehow manage to capture things that people don’t realize are there until they see the picture. This is an amazing family (they’re mine), especially Miss Sassy Pants, the 19 month hold who thinks she’s grown. Thank you for doing such a wonderful job with all their pictures.
